PROJECT
Sanctuary Rose Window(Leaded stained glass with plating, screen printing and air-brushed enamels.)
"Sarah was able to offer suggestions about the unique problems that we faced: an east-facing brick wall with no window opening. We sensed that Sarah approached her work with a deep spirituality. At every stage of the process Sarah made helpful suggestions that guided our decision making.
Our time with Sarah became a spiritual journey, culminating in the installation of our window that allowed God's light and love to flow into our Sanctuary. The theme of our window is the 'Living Cross'. It is a circular design 14 feet in diameter. It was created primarily in the traditional leaded method, with fine hand-made glass from Glashutte Lamberts. Additionally, there are several new techniques incorporated into the window. The outer blue circle, which references the sea and sky, was made through successive layers of firing and layers of air-brushed enamels. The four quadrants with the star map pattern on rose coloured glass are screen printed and fired with red glass paints. Many of the individual leaded pieces within the "tree" are plated with textural antique glass to give movement and liveliness.
We are delighted with Sarah's design and the installation of our window. The dedication took place at our 200th Anniversary Service on October 26, 2003."
